At ARBRE all of our allied health therapists are skilled child development and mental health clinicians bringing with them a wealth of experience and knowledge. ARBRE ‘Focused Psychological Strategies’ Intervention team<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2006, the Government introduced the \u2018Better Access to Mental Health Care\u2019 initiative, where children, adolescents and adults could be referred to suitably qualified and experienced allied health professionals namely: social workers; psychologists and occupational therapists for the provision of \u2018Focussed Psychological Strategies’.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our ARBRE Psychology team offer therapeutic intervention to children, adolescents and families and hold experience across child development, mental health and neurodiversity. They hold a client-centered approach that is non-judgemental and involves family where considered appropriate. Services currently offered include cognitive behavioural therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy, interpersonal psychotherapy, solution-focused brief therapy, diagnostic adjustment interventions and family systems\u00a0interventions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Medicare Rebates are available through a GP Mental Health Care Plan, Helping Children with Autism and Chronic Disease Management Plan. Private health rebates may apply. Please check with your provider. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

ARBRE Mental Health Social Workers<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our Accredited Mental Health Social Workers focus on young people and their family’s mental health, neurodevelopment and well-being through the provision of empathic, solution focused therapies. They takes a neuroaffirming, systemic (relational) frame to viewing challenges and focuses on understanding the patterned ways that individuals learn to cope with times of stress and the impact this has on others. Interventions offered include psychoeducation, didactic and family therapies, cognitive behaviour interventions (CBT), social coaching model and neuro-affirming therapy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ARBRE Occupational Therapy Intervention<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Occupational Therapy focuses on supporting children to participate in the things they want and need to do every day. Our intervention is family and solution focused, working together we hope to increase your child\u2019s confidence, skills and independence.\u00a0Occupational therapy can help you understand and manage your child\u2019s self regulation, sensory differences and challenges in every day routines.\u00a0We may also work with you to develop connections through play with your child.\u00a0\u00a0For older children we want them to flourish as a learner by supporting their attention, planning and fine motor skills.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our speech pathologist offers support in understanding and building your child\u2019s communication skills. We will work with you to help grow your child\u2019s speech, language and communication ability; maximise their participation at home, school and in community; and to problem solve together how we can minimise any barriers or impacts that communication difficulties may have.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ARBRE Family Therapy Intervention<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Families are complex. Understanding each person and how they impact each other is important in managing common problems that happen in families including conflict, challenging behaviour, developmental difficulties, anxiety and more.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Family therapy is a dynamic, family-based intervention that allows all family members a voice no matter how small or quiet and focusses on individual and family strengths to create change.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Currently our medical team only offer intervention review and support for children and young people who have been through the ARBRE Integrated Assessment Process. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Medical review intervention is an important part of integrated and holistic developmental and mental health care. Children, young people and families may access ongoing medical care to monitor medication, provide ongoing assessment and review and to monitor behaviour, developmental and mental health requirements throughout a young person’s life trajectory. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Medicare Rebates are available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
